The Ideathon aims to support the generation innovative and practical solutions to combat marine plastic pollution, fostering collaboration between diverse participants from the EU and India. It also seeks to raise awareness and promote actionable ideas that can be implemented at local, national, or global levels.
The event is open to individuals aged 18 and above from both the EU and India. We welcome participants from all backgrounds, including students, professionals, researchers, startups, NGOs, and others passionate about environmental sustainability. Registered participants will have to form teams consisting of individuals from EU and India.
No, the Ideathon is open to individuals with both technical and non-technical backgrounds. Teams will be formed to ensure a diverse mix of skills, including engineering, design, social science, business and others.
You can register through the official event page by filling out the online application form. During registration, you will be asked to propose an idea aligned with one of the challenges.
The registration will be a 2-step process. Participants that register with their teams will directly get into the Ideathon. Participants that register as individuals without a team will be redirected to form teams in the supported environment before the start of the Ideathon. Each team needs to be formed from up to six individuals ensuring a good mix of participants from both from EU and India.
The Ideathon will include online pre-event sessions to support participants in developing the initial ideas and a one-day physical event for the final pitch. Teams will present their final ideas to a panel of judges during the event.
During the final event, judges representing challenge owners will assess pitched ideas based on three equally weighted criteria: relevance, innovativeness, and quality of the team.
3 winning teams will receive 2 weeks of ad hoc advisory support from the Ideathon organisers tailored to the specific needs of the participants.
No, participation is free. However, participants may need to cover their own travel and accommodation costs if attending the physical event.
